LOUISVILLE — STATCARE has introduced a new feature that will help keep EMS providers up-to-date with STATCARE's outreach continuing education schedule. Called CE-Mail, the free service will send electronic mail announcements of continuing education offerings to interested EMS providers. "We realize that there is a terrific demand for continuing education in the area, and that it's difficult for everyone to find out what's being offered in a timely manner," said John Blumenstock, STATCARE's executive director. Individuals who would like to participate can add their e-mail address to the list on STATCARE's Internet site. "We don't collect your name. Just your e-mail address. And we won't release your e-mail address to other agencies or companies," said Rick McKinstry, a Flight Nurse / Educator who coordinates STATCARE's traditional continuing education program. Another feature now available is the ability for students to look up their STATCARE continuing education records on-line and replace lost certificates. "It's hard for some to keep track of their continuing education hours, especially over a two-year period," said Blumenstock. "And we know it's easy to loose certificates. So if you use STATCARE for your continuing education, we'll help you keep track of those hours." "We have almost 26,000 hours of continuing education records available in our database, going back to January 1998," McKinstry said. Both features are now available at STATCARE's Internet site, www.statcare.org, under the "Education Department" section.
